In this medical condition the endometrial tissues line up uterus and begin to spread and over grow outside uterus and implants around the places such as ovaries, fallopian tubes and other organs of pelvic region. The endometrial tissues shed off by themselves when there is normal growth inside the uterus by creating a monthly cycle during each menstrual cycle.
These tissues are also shed off attached or implanted to the organs that are present outside the uterus this shedding in turn leads to cysts, inflammation and scar tissue throughout the pelvic region. Some endometriosis symptoms can be observed in the women with endometriosis condition such as pain during sexual intercourse, chronic pelvic pain, gastrointestinal troubles, pain while urinating, infertility and heavy or abnormal menstrual cycle.
Endometriosis has four stages and each stage has its own symptoms
Minimal: The first stage of endometriosis is considered as Minimal. This is the initial stage in which the implants are shallow, small in size and number. It is characterized by a few isolated tissues outside of the uterus. There a few lesions or small wounds or implants. It can be found on the tissue or the organs that are lining the abdomen or pelvis.
Mild: In the second stage, the side effects and complications are normally considered to be as mild. There can be more and deeper implants in this stage when compared to that of stage 1 endometriosis. It is characterized by more and slightly deeper implants and mild adhesions.
Moderate: This stage is considered to be as moderate endometriosis. It is characterized by many deep implants, and some filmy adhesions or scars. On one or both ovaries small cysts are formed and adhesions which are the thick bands of scar tissue. There the blood turns brown due to the accumulation, for which the over growths are also called as chocolate cysts. A thin band of tissue is found which joins the organs together known as filmy adhesions.
The adhesions which are the scar tissues are formed When the body tries to heal the inflammation that is caused by the endometriosis. It helps the organs to stick and join together when there is no scope for that which in turn causes sharp, severe and stabbing nausea, pain in women suffering from the endometriosis condition.
Severe: It is the fourth stage of the endometriosis. It is characterized by deep implants, and multiple thick adhesions which even involve other organs. Apart from deep implants of the endometriosis, large cysts are also present on many other adhesions and on at least one of ovaries throughout the pelvic area. This is the most widespread.
These stages do not correlate with the complex and how severe the things such as chronic pain or infertility affect a woman with endometriosis condition. The endometriosis does not spread like cancer.
Women with the first stage of endometriosis can be more fertile when compared with that of women with fourth stage. This disease has various impacts and differs from one to the other depending on the disease that is located and how much it affects the patient.
