The main sign of low sperm count is the inability of a man to conceive a child. A low sperm count is termed when sperms are lesser than 15 million per millilitre of semen. Problems like low sperm count and low sperm quality are quiet common.
The causes of low sperm count in men include:
Genetic disorders can cause abnormal development lowering the sperm count.
A hormonal imbalance. Any kind of hormonal imbalance or alteration in hormones, thyroid disorders leads to low sperm count.
Dilated testicular veins.
The tubes blocked by illness or injury, or absent by birth.

Previous surgery done.

Environmental factors such as exposure to industrial chemicals or x-ray or radiations may also lower the sperm count.
Overheating due to sitting for a long time during driving or working on a laptop may have significant affect on the sperm count.
The ideal temperature for development of sperm is 4 degrees Fahrenheit that is lower than the body.
